Wipe a Chromebook (Developer Mode)

  • Press Esc + Samsung Chromebook Refresh key + Power. Depending on the model, the message should pop to say either: "Chrome OS is Missing or Damage. Please insert a Recovery USB" or "Please insert a recovery USB Drive to Recover Chrome OS".
  • When you see the message above, press Ctrl + D. It will then ask you to turn off OS verification. Press "Enter" when you see the message, press Enter.
  • The next screen will say: "OS verification is off, to turn it on, press "Enter" or "Space". When you see that message, press either "Enter" or "Spacebar" to turn on OS verification. The Chromebook deletes its local data, returning to its initial state. This takes approximately 15 minutes.
  • When the Chromebook reboots, it says Welcome, go ahead and click on "Let's Go!" and follow the prompts on the screen to connect to your Wi-Fi or Hotspot and Agree to Terms and Conditions.
  • Next, the first login page should say "Enterprise Enrollment." (If it does not, press Ctrl+Alt+E). Enter a valid ASD username and password (either student or teacher level account) to complete the re-enrollment process to our domain.
  • Log in to the Chromebook.
